About the Company
Our client is a growing family-owned company undergoing a transformation from a traditional business into a more structured and professionally managed organization. The company is looking for a hands-on HR Manager to strengthen the HR function, improve HR governance, and support the organization’s continued growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR leader to manage both strategic and operational HR while working closely with management, operational teams, and employees across the organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the overall HR function, covering HR Operations, Employee & Industrial Relations, General Affairs, manpower management, and HR administration.
- Oversee workforce management across full-time, outsourced, and subcontractor employees.
- Lead Industrial Relations and employee relations, including grievances, disciplinary matters, absenteeism, disputes, and termination processes.
- Ensure compliance with Indonesian manpower regulations, company policies, BPJS, and statutory requirements.
- Develop and strengthen HR policies, SOPs, governance, and processes to support the company’s transformation.
- Lead and develop the HR team across recruitment, payroll, HR administration, and related HR activities.
- Partner with external consultants to implement HR systems and improve organizational effectiveness.
- Work closely with management and operational leaders on manpower planning, workforce productivity, and employee-related matters.
- Monitor key HR metrics including headcount, turnover, absenteeism, overtime, and manpower costs.
- Oversee HSSE coordination to support a safe, compliant, and disciplined workplace.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Management, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of HR experience, with strong exposure to HR Operations / Generalist functions.
- Experience in manufacturing, steel, heavy industry, construction, mining, logistics, or other labour-intensive industries is highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing a large blue-collar / shop-floor workforce.
- Strong knowledge of Industrial Relations and Indonesian manpower regulations.
- Hands-on experience handling employee disputes, disciplinary actions, grievances, absenteeism, termination, and labour relations.
- Comfortable working in a family-owned business undergoing transformation and able to introduce more structured HR practices.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with owners, management, and employees at all levels.
- Firm, mature, decisive, hands-on, and highly trustworthy, with strong integrity and discretion.
- Willing to be based in Surabaya.
