Senior Tax Manager

About the Role

Our client is a globally recognised manufacturing business with operations across more than 50 countries and a heritage spanning over 250 years. With a strong presence in Indonesia, the business continues to invest in growth across the region.

They are now looking to hire a Senior Tax Manager to manage tax matters across Indonesia, a key market for the group. This role will focus on tax compliance, audit management, and advisory, while supporting business initiatives and managing tax risk across multiple sites.

The position also offers exposure to regional tax matters, including coordination with teams in Thailand, and will oversee a small local team. This role will be based in Bogor (hybrid working arrangement).

Key Responibilities
  • Manage all corporate income tax compliance obligations in Indonesia, including coordination with tax advisors and tax authorities to ensure obligations are met efficiently
  • Lead identification and execution of local tax compliance and planning initiatives, including tax incentives, government subsidies, and appropriate tax treatments
  • Support the implementation of global tax planning initiatives relevant to the region to optimise the Group’s overall tax position
  • Identify and manage tax risks across direct and indirect taxes, including leading tax audits, handling enquiries, and coordinating with advisors and internal stakeholders
  • Provide tax advisory support to business and regional stakeholders, including guidance on business initiatives and updates on tax developments
  • Coordinate cash tax forecasting and payment/refund processes, including reviewing submissions, analysing variances, and recommending adjustments
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual tax reporting, including review of tax provisions, reporting packs, and forecasts
  • Support treasury and cash management activities, including tax considerations around cash repatriation
  • Ensure appropriate legal documentation for intercompany transactions, including maintenance of agreements supporting cross-border arrangements
  • Support transfer pricing activities, including documentation for intercompany charges (e.g. management fees, royalties, shared services)
  • Work with the Group Transfer Pricing team on implementation of Advanced Pricing Agreements (APA)
  • Lead indirect tax strategy and compliance, including risk management, audit support, refund processes, and review of filings

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with ACCA / CA or equivalent tax qualification
  • 10–15+ years of experience in tax-related roles
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations
  • Proven experience in Indonesian tax audits and dealing with tax authorities
  • Experience managing tax compliance processes and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good project management and organisational skills
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with SAP and standard tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • High attention to detail with strong judgement and decision-making ability
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, treasury, and legal teams
Desirable
  • Exposure to transfer pricing and/or Advanced Pricing Agreements (APA)
  • Experience with cross-border transactions
  • Familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools
  • Understanding of Indonesian corporate structures and regulatory requirements
  • Exposure to regional tax matters (e.g. Thailand) is an advantage
  • Background in Big 4 and/or multinational environment
  • Combination of Big 4 + industry experience preferred
