Project Manager – Oil and Gas / Energy

We are supporting an established business group in appointing a Project Manager – Commercial & Operations to support the evaluation and development of new project opportunities, with a primary focus on the energy and oil & gas sector.

This role is suited for a commercially driven professional who is comfortable working independently, analyzing business opportunities, preparing presentations, and working closely with senior management and technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop potential project-based opportunities within energy, oil & gas, and related industries.
• Conduct commercial and operational assessments of new projects, investments, partnerships, or potential acquisitions.
• Analyze available market, financial, operational, and project information to support management decision-making.
• Prepare business cases, presentations, proposals, and recommendations for senior management.
• Present project ideas and commercial recommendations clearly to internal stakeholders.
• Work closely with technical and supporting teams to assess project feasibility and requirements.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders throughout the project evaluation and development process.
• Support management in identifying potential new business opportunities and assessing their commercial viability.
• Follow up on project development and ensure key actions are progressing.
• Operate as a key point of coordination between management, commercial stakeholders, and technical teams.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in Energy, Oil & Gas, Mining, or related project-based industries.
• Experience in commercial, project management, business development, operations, or investment/project evaluation.
• Strong analytical and structured thinking with the ability to assess business opportunities.
• Comfortable preparing and delivering business presentations to senior management.
• Strong commercial understanding and ability to translate information into clear recommendations.
• Experience working with technical teams is advantageous.
• Oil & gas experience is highly preferred; candidates from mining or other energy-related sectors are also welcome.
• Does not need to be a highly technical oil & gas specialist, but should have sufficient industry exposure and be willing to learn quickly.
• Independent, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of projects.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Jakarta-based and comfortable working predominantly in an office environment.
