About the Role

We're looking for a Quality Manager (M&E) to join the MEP Quality team on a large-scale data centre construction project in Kulai, Johor Bahru. Reporting to the Senior Quality Manager (M&E) / Department Head (MEP), you'll take ownership of quality assurance and control across all M&E works, and lead the project's testing and commissioning (T&C) function from strategy through to final handover.

What You'll Do
  • Monitor quality implementation on site against the Project Quality Plan (PQP), ensuring the QMS (ISO 9001:2015) is properly implemented and maintained across the project organisation.
  • Oversee Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP) across all trades, working closely with resident engineers and clerks of works to resolve site quality issues.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality procedures, and run Quality Toolbox Meetings (QTB) ahead of new work methods.
  • Develop and own the overall testing and commissioning (T&C) strategy, plans, and schedule for the project.
  • Lead the team and coordinate with engineering, construction, and subcontractors to get systems commissioning-ready.
  • Sequence testing and commissioning activities across multiple interconnected systems, and oversee pre-commissioning, functional, and performance testing.
  • Coordinate T&C activities on site with clients, consultants, and vendors.
  • Track T&C progress, report on milestones, and ensure all commissioning work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Review and approve test reports, checklists, and non-conformance reports through to sign-off.
What We're Looking For
  • Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in infrastructure or building construction.
  • At least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of quality control procedures and testing/commissioning standards.
  • Familiarity with BIM, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred (not required): Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM); project management or commissioning-related certifications.
