Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a heavy manufacturing organisation with a strong presence in mineral processing and industrial production. They are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis. In this role, you'll take ownership of keeping critical production equipment running reliably, combining hands-on troubleshooting with a focus on preventing problems before they happen. This is a practical, problem-solving position where your experience in heavy industrial environments will directly impact operational uptime and safety.

• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance across furnaces, casting equipment, conveyors, hydraulic systems, motors, and electrical automation
• Investigate equipment failures using root cause analysis to improve reliability and reduce downtime
• Work in a safety-focused environment where your maintenance planning and compliance knowledge are valued

Preferred Requirements

• Proven maintenance experience in heavy industrial settings such as mining equipment, mineral processing, steel manufacturing, foundry, or similar heavy manufacturing environments
• Hands-on competency with industrial equipment including furnaces, casting or forging machinery, heat-treatment systems, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, compressors, and motors
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to schedule routine maintenance and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing reliability improvements based on failure patterns
• Fluent English speaker with the ability to communicate clearly with production teams and document maintenance activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or plant maintenance
• Formal training or certification in preventive maintenance planning and spare parts management
• Demonstrated knowledge of safety and compliance standards relevant to heavy industrial operations
