About the Role
This role is responsible for leading the company’s government relations and public policy function by developing and executing strategies that strengthen engagement with regulators, government institutions, and key external stakeholders. The successful candidate will serve as the primary liaison between the organization and regulatory authorities, monitor policy and legislative developments, support regulatory compliance, and provide strategic guidance on public affairs and government engagement initiatives. Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, this position plays a critical role in supporting business growth, influencing policy outcomes, and enhancing the company’s reputation within Indonesia’s financial services ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise senior management on regulatory developments, public policy matters, government engagement strategies, and external risks that may impact the company’s operations and long-term business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with government institutions, regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other key external stakeholders to support business growth and regulatory engagement.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive government relations and public affairs strategies that align with the company’s business objectives, regulatory priorities, and long-term market positioning.
  • Lead and develop the government relations function by strengthening stakeholder networks, mentoring team members, and driving effective cross-functional collaboration across the organization.
  • Manage regulatory engagement by representing the company in meetings, consultations, industry forums, hearings, and policy discussions with government and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Monitor and assess legislative, regulatory, and public policy developments affecting the fintech and financial services sectors, and prepare strategic reports, position papers, and recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Oversee stakeholder mapping, government communication initiatives, and issue management activities to support effective regulatory positioning and crisis response when required.
  • Support enterprise regulatory compliance by coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with applicable laws, regulatory obligations, reporting requirements, and governance standards.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree will be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior executives, regulators, government officials, and external partners.
  • Extensive knowledge of Indonesia’s regulatory landscape, government processes, public policy environment, and financial services regulatory framework.
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, regulatory affairs, public policy, or related functions within the fintech, banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute government engagement strategies, influence policy outcomes, and manage complex regulatory and stakeholder initiatives.
  • Proven experience representing organizations in regulatory consultations, industry forums, government meetings, and external stakeholder engagements.
  • Strong relationships with key Indonesian regulatory authorities, government agencies, and industry associations relevant to the fintech and financial services sectors.
  • Strong proficiency in both written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English, with the ability to prepare executive-level reports, policy papers, and strategic communications.
