Head of Digital Technology (Australia placement)

A growing international resources organization is seeking an experienced Head of Digital Technology to lead technology strategy, enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation across its Australian operations.

Based in Brisbane, this newly created position will oversee technology across corporate and remote mining environments. The successful candidate will play a central role in an ERP transformation, improve operational readiness across multiple locations, and establish a scalable technology foundation for future growth.

This is an opportunity to become the organization's senior technology representative in Australia while working closely with local executive leadership and an established Group Digital Technology function in Asia.

Reporting locally to the Australian CEO and functionally to Group Digital Technology leadership (Indonesia), you will:

• Define and execute the Australian technology roadmap;
• Lead SAP implementation, adoption, governance, and integration;
• Manage the transition and coexistence between SAP and Pronto;
• Oversee enterprise applications, cloud, infrastructure, and connectivity;
• Strengthen technology services across Brisbane and remote mining locations;
• Implement cybersecurity, risk, business continuity, and disaster recovery requirements;
• Govern relevant mine-site systems and operational technology;
• Develop a practical digitalization roadmap for mining operations;
• Manage technology vendors, contracts, SLAs, Capex, and Opex;
• Build and lead a lean local technology capability;
• Coordinate specialist support from regional and Group teams;
• Support the integration and technology readiness of future Australian entities.

Requirements:

• Approximately 15 years or more of progressive enterprise technology experience;
• Proven leadership of a broad IT or Digital Technology function;
• Strong SAP implementation and ERP transformation experience;
• Working knowledge of SAP FI/CO and Materials Management;
• Experience across applications, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and service delivery;
• Experience supporting multi-site, remote, or operationally critical environments;
• A background in mining, resources, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, or another asset-intensive sector;
• Strong vendor, SLA, budget, and stakeholder-management capability;
• Understanding of enterprise architecture and systems integration;
• Exposure to Microsoft 365 and Azure environments;
• Experience with Pronto or mine-site technology would be advantageous;
• Strong English communication skills;
• Professional Bahasa Indonesia capability is strongly required due to regular collaboration with Indonesia-based Group stakeholders;
• A master's degree in technology, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

Location, Language and Work Rights

The position is based in Brisbane, Australia and requires periodic travel to remote mining locations. Travel may be more frequent during the initial assessment and implementation phases.

Candidates currently located elsewhere in Australia may be considered if willing to relocate to Brisbane.

This position will suit a commercially minded technology leader who combines strong SAP and enterprise applications experience with the ability to manage broader infrastructure, security, vendors, and operations.
