Facility Manager – Data Center

We are looking for an experienced Critical Facility Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a critical data center facility, ensuring 24/7 reliability, 100% uptime, and compliance with client SLAs and operational standards. The role will oversee the site engineering and technical teams, manage critical infrastructure including HVAC/cooling systems, electrical systems, UPS, generators, BMS, fire protection, and other MEP systems, and ensure all preventive and corrective maintenance activities are executed effectively.

The Critical Facility Manager will be responsible for team leadership, operational excellence, maintenance planning, incident and emergency management, compliance, vendor management, and continuous improvement. This role will also act as the primary operational point of contact for the client, providing regular operational updates, managing escalations, and ensuring service delivery meets agreed KPIs and SLAs.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the data center engineering/technician team and daily facility operations.
• Ensure 24/7 availability, reliability, and uptime of critical infrastructure.
• Oversee electrical and mechanical systems, particularly HVAC/cooling, UPS, generators, BMS, fire protection, and power distribution.
• Own preventive and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring minimal operational disruption.
• Lead response to critical incidents, emergencies, and equipment failures, including RCA and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with SOP, MOP, EOP, HSE, regulatory, and data center operational standards.
• Manage contractors and service providers, including performance, SLA, and maintenance quality.
• Monitor facility KPIs, energy efficiency, equipment reliability, and operational costs.
• Drive continuous improvement, reliability enhancement, and energy/cost optimization initiatives.
• Manage CAPEX/OPEX related to facility operations and maintenance.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and act as the key escalation point for operational matters.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, or related fields.
• 8–12+ years of experience in critical facilities, data centers, industrial facilities, or similar mission-critical environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC/cooling and electrical critical systems.
• Proven experience managing engineering/technical teams at a manager or senior leadership level.
• Strong understanding of data center operations, preventive maintenance, incident management, and business continuity.
• Experience working with clients, vendors, contractors, and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Data center certification such as Uptime Institute, CDCP/CDCS, or equivalent would be an advantage.
