About the Role
We're looking for a Deputy Quality Manager (M&E) to join the MEP Quality team on a large-scale data centre construction project in Kulai, Johor Bahru. Reporting to the Quality Manager, under the Department Head (MEP), you'll help implement quality assurance and control across all M&E works, and play a key role in planning and executing the project's testing and commissioning (T&C) activities.

What You'll Do

• Monitor quality implementation on site against the Project Quality Plan (PQP), ensuring the QMS (ISO 9001:2015) is properly implemented and maintained.
• Ensure Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP) are carried out across all trades with the relevant parties.
• Coordinate with resident engineers and clerks of works to resolve site quality issues.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality procedures.
• Review work methodology ahead of new activities and run Quality Toolbox Meetings (QTB).
• Develop and implement the overall T&C strategy, plans, procedures, and schedules.
• Lead and coordinate with engineering, construction, and subcontractor teams to get systems commissioning-ready.
• Coordinate T&C activities on site with clients, consultants, and vendors.
• Ensure proper sequencing of testing and commissioning across multiple systems, and oversee pre-commissioning, functional, and performance testing.
• Track T&C progress, prepare status reports, and keep milestones on schedule.
• Review and approve test reports, checklists, and non-conformance reports through to sign-off.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure or building construction.
• At least 1 year in a managerial role.
• Good knowledge of quality control procedures and testing/commissioning standards.
• Familiarity with BIM, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
• Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred (not required): Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM); project management or commissioning-related certifications.
