About the Role

We're looking for a Deputy Construction Manager to join the Site Management team on a large-scale data centre construction project in Kulai, Johor Bahru. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you'll assist in managing the overall planning, coordination, and execution of construction works — helping ensure the project stays on spec, on budget, and on schedule.

What You'll Do

• Assist in managing the engineering and architectural aspects of construction activities, including temporary works review, design adequacy, and plant/machinery deployment.
• Supervise progress across construction work elements, keeping quality on target with the plan.
• Assist in implementing the master programme, construction methodology, manpower, materials, and plant schedules, and prepare fortnightly programmes.
• Review structural, architectural, M&E, and interior design drawings for compliance with company procedures, engineering standards, and authority/employer requirements.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between structural, architectural, and basic M&E drawings.
• Coordinate with site staff and subcontractors to resolve issues as they arise.
• Monitor inspection and testing procedures, and track subcontractors' progress, payments, valuations, and variation orders.
• Support liaison with local authorities, owners, architects, and consultant engineers.
• Monitor Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) compliance on site.
• Schedule tower crane utilisation and maintain accurate site records and drawings.
• Provide guidance to team members to help develop their technical and soft skills.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or equivalent field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, building construction, or related fields.
• Proven experience as a Senior Site Engineer specialising in construction management across a diverse range of construction projects.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies and engineering design principles.
• Well-versed in Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, CAD, or similar software.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to resolve site or contractual conflicts under pressure.

Preferred (not required): Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
