Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available database architectures.
- Install, configure, monitor, and manage relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, and Redis.
- Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, schema optimization, and performance analysis.
- Implement backup, recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity (BCP) strategies.
- Manage database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions, including PostgreSQL HA (Patroni, PgBouncer, or similar) and MongoDB Replica Sets/Sharding.
- Collaborate with Backend Engineers on database design, data modeling, and application performance optimization.
- Automate database deployment, migration, monitoring, and maintenance processes.
- Support database operations in containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes) and implement monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, ELK).
- Troubleshoot database issues, perform root cause analysis, and maintain technical documentation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator, Database Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
- Strong understanding of database design, schema management, data modeling, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Experience with database replication, clustering, high availability, backup/recovery, and security best practices.
- Experience with database migration, deployment processes, and Git-based version control.
- Familiarity with Linux server administration.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible is preferred.
- Experience supporting high-traffic or mission-critical systems is preferred.
