Data Center Operation manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day management of their data center infrastructure. This is a full-time role based in Australia, offering the opportunity to oversee critical operations for a facility handling minimum 10 MW capacity. The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in data center operations, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and a fluent command of English to communicate effectively across technical and stakeholder teams.

• Oversee all operational aspects of a large-scale data center facility with 10+ MW capacity
• Lead MEP systems management, ensuring optimal performance and compliance across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure
• Drive operational excellence through proactive monitoring, maintenance scheduling, and incident response

Preferred Requirements

• Proven experience managing data center operations at scale, ideally with facilities handling 10 MW or greater
• Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, power distribution, cooling systems, and infrastructure resilience
• Fluent English communication skills, with the ability to liaise with vendors, stakeholders, and technical teams
• Demonstrated track record in operational planning, risk management, and compliance within a data center environment
• Experience with monitoring systems, preventative maintenance protocols, and incident management procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in facilities management, mechanical engineering, or data center operations
• Industry certifications such as Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) or equivalent
• Background in large-scale infrastructure management or critical facilities operations
