Credit Legal Associate – Investments

Our Client, a company running nationwide and offshore investments, is seeking a transactional lawyer with approximately 5–7 years of legal experience, ideally with a strong Banking & Finance or credit legal background. this position will primarily focus on transactional legal work, with an emphasis on financing and credit-related matters.

The ideal candidate will have significant exposure to credit transactions, financing structures, risk mitigation, and compliance. Candidates from corporate banking, fintech, structured finance, or other relevant financing backgrounds will also be considered, provided they demonstrate strong transactional structuring capabilities.

Beyond technical legal expertise, the role requires a candidate who can effectively balance the rigorous legal analysis expected in a law firm environment with the commercially practical approach required in an in-house or business-facing role. Strong business acumen is essential, as the successful candidate will serve as a key line of defence in the transaction process.

The individual must be able to translate complex legal issues into clear, commercially relevant advice and actionable recommendations for management. Rather than taking a purely binary approach to legal matters, the candidate should be capable of identifying commercially viable alternatives while maintaining appropriate legal safeguards and risk controls.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising on financing and credit transactions, including transaction structuring and associated legal risks.
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal, transactional, and compliance risks throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Supporting the execution of complex transactions and providing commercially sound legal recommendations to relevant stakeholders and management.
• Evaluating legal risks and presenting practical solutions that balance appropriate risk management with business objectives.
• Supporting ongoing portfolio-related legal matters, including transaction monitoring, amendments, consents, and other post-transaction requirements.
• Monitoring existing transactions and managing portfolio-related legal matters.

The role is hands-on and requires a high degree of ownership so the candidate must be comfortable managing matters independently from start to finish.
