Senior Backend Engineer

Our client is a fast-growing travel tech startup redefining how Indonesians discover and book unique cabin and nature getaway experiences. With a strong product vision and a rapidly growing user base, they are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help scale their platform and deliver seamless booking experiences to thousands of travelers.

• Design, build, and scale high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs using Golang
• Develop and maintain backend infrastructure for real-time booking flows, user management, and inventory systems
• Architect and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases to ensure speed, reliability, and data integrity
• Integrate with third-party services including payment gateways and travel-related platforms
• Optimize system performance to handle high-volume traffic during peak booking periods
• Collaborate closely with Android and iOS developers as well as product managers to deliver user-centric features
• Write clean, maintainable code and actively contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices

Key Requirements:

• 4+ years of backend development experience with strong hands-on Golang expertise
• Prior experience in an Online Travel Agency, booking platform, or SaaS environment is a strong plus
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Strong experience with relational and non-relational databases, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a high sense of ownership and accountability
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS
• Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks
• Passion for travel, outdoor experiences, or consumer apps
