Key Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic legal business partner to cross-functional teams by providing practical and commercially sound legal advice that supports business objectives.
• Build and establish legal processes, policies, templates, and governance frameworks to strengthen the organisation’s legal and compliance infrastructure as the first legal headcount in Indonesia.
• Develop and manage relationships with external counsel, regulators, and relevant authorities to ensure efficient handling of legal and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and corporate documents to safeguard the organisation’s legal and business interests.
• Lead and oversee the legal function in Indonesia, including regulatory matters and CIPM-related compliance responsibilities.
• Manage corporate secretarial and corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and advise on changes in laws and regulations impacting the business while implementing proactive risk mitigation measures.
• Oversee dispute resolution, litigation management, and legal proceedings involving the organisation while coordinating closely with external counsel where necessary.
• Provide legal guidance on employment, operational, data privacy, and compliance-related matters to minimise legal and reputational risks.
• Support business expansion, strategic projects, and operational initiatives by identifying legal risks and recommending practical solutions aligned with company objectives.

Key Requirements

• Active advocate licence with authorisation to practise law in Indonesia is mandatory for this role.
• Demonstrated experience handling legal, regulatory, and compliance matters within the pharmaceutical or medical devices industry.
• Experience managing corporate legal affairs, commercial contracts, litigation, and corporate governance matters within regulated industries is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with legality, licensing, and regulatory compliance requirements applicable to healthcare, pharmaceutical, or medical device businesses in Indonesia.
• Proven ability to act as a legal business partner by providing practical and commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with regulators, business leaders, and external counsel.
• Strong understanding of Indonesian laws and regulations relating to healthcare, product compliance, corporate governance, and operational risk management.
• Ability to work independently and build legal frameworks, policies, and processes in a fast-growing business environment as the first legal hire.
