Key Responsibilities

• Act as a strategic liaison between the organisation’s Board of Directors, senior leadership team, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, alignment, and strong advocacy positioning.
• Build and maintain strong strategic relationships with key stakeholders including Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, Majelis Ulama Indonesia, Islamic organisations, state-owned enterprises, and Bank Syariah Indonesia.
• Drive industry initiatives that strengthen the positioning, independence, and influence of Sharia associations in shaping the national Islamic financial services agenda.
• Lead international engagement initiatives and represent the organisation in regional and global forums related to Islamic finance and Sharia-compliant insurance.
• Monitor political, regulatory, and industry developments while advising management on strategic implications, stakeholder engagement priorities, and advocacy initiatives.
• Represent the organisation and the Sharia insurance industry at senior levels with regulators, government institutions, industry associations, and Islamic organisations.

Key Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives, stakeholder mapping, lobbying efforts, and industry engagement at both national and international levels.
• Experience as a Head of Public Policy or in a similar leadership capacity within Sharia regulations or Islamic financial services is highly preferred.
• Highly credible and respected senior professional with strong executive presence and deep understanding of the Sharia finance and insurance industry.
• Proven experience managing senior-level relationships with Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, industry associations, regulators, and government-linked institutions.
• Proven track record in developing strategic commercial and business growth initiatives aligned with organisational objectives and regulatory developments.
• Strong network across insurance-related state-owned enterprises, Islamic banking institutions, Danantara-related entities, Islamic organisations, and key industry stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of Sharia governance frameworks and experience engaging with organisations such as Majelis Ulama Indonesia, Dewan Syariah Nasional.
• Strategic, influential, and commercially astute leader capable of operating effectively at Executive Committee level with minimal administrative oversight.
