Client Acquisition & Business Development – Law Firm

Our client is seeking a Client Acquisition & Business Development Professional to support the firm's growth by driving new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, ensuring consistent engagement, effective follow-up, and a positive client experience throughout the business development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with Partners, lawyers, and business services teams to align business development strategies with the firm's growth objectives and sector priorities.
  • Conduct market research and competitive intelligence activities, including monitoring industry trends, competitor movements, client developments, and regulatory changes to identify emerging business opportunities.
  • Coordinate and support thought leadership initiatives, including seminars, webinars, conferences, speaking engagements, and networking events, to enhance the firm's market visibility and strengthen client engagement.
  • Develop and execute business development initiatives to identify, qualify, and secure new client opportunities through strategic networking, market research, referrals, and direct outreach activities.
  • Identify and drive cross-selling opportunities across the firm's practice areas by analyzing client needs and collaborating with internal stakeholders to expand existing client relationships.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of client pitches, Requests for Proposal (RFPs), capability statements, and presentation materials in collaboration with Partners and legal practice groups.
  • Manage and maintain the firm's client relationship management (CRM) system, including tracking leads, monitoring business development activities, maintaining pipeline visibility, and preparing performance reports.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Law, or a related discipline from a reputable university.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal services and value propositions in a clear, persuasive, and client-focused manner.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience in business development, sales, client acquisition, marketing, or relationship management within a law firm, consulting firm, accounting firm, or other professional services environment.
  • Proven track record in developing business opportunities, managing client relationships, preparing proposals, and supporting revenue growth initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capabilities, with experience conducting market research, competitive intelligence, and business development planning.
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the confidence, professionalism, and diplomacy to collaborate effectively with Partners, lawyers, senior management, and external clients.
  • Strong understanding of legal services, legal terminology, law firm operations, and the needs of corporate clients, including experience engaging with senior executives, General Counsel, and key decision-makers.
