Job Responsibilities:
- Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
- Manage sourcing of customers. Build and maintain relationships with customers and assist and direct team members in sourcing and growing customer base.
- Forwarding and in-depth knowledge of the contract logistics business and market.
- Set sales team profit goals and hold team members accountable for goals and recognize or discipline as needed.
- Develop and manage operating budgets.
- Monthly financial analysis: including determining overall success of current customer profiles.
- 5-7 years of business development and/or sales experience with a core focus in ocean and/or air freight space - with the addition of having to have manage added value services within the forwarding market.
- Proven success in hunting new customers within forwarding and contract logistics space would be highly desirable.
- A proven track record of customer and market development with experience across the various forwarding stages.
- The ability to design and lead, leveraging on your knowledge of the shipping and logistics market.
- Good communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
