Key Responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing consultative support on the firm's capabilities, practice areas, and service offerings.
- Collaborate with partners to develop and execute strategic plans for client acquisition, retention, and expansion.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify industry trends, business opportunities, and potential target clients.
- Coordinate and manage submissions to legal directories, rankings, and industry awards, working closely with partners and attorneys to enhance the firm's market profile and credibility.
- Ensure all business development activities are aligned with the firm's strategic objectives and professional standards.
- Generate and qualify leads through networking, industry events, referrals, and strategic business development initiatives.
- Manage the end-to-end proposal process, including the preparation of customized pitch materials, client presentations, and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
- Monitor market developments and provide insights on emerging business opportunities within related sectors.
- Organize and participate in client meetings, networking events, seminars, and industry conferences to promote the firm's brand and expertise.
- Partner closely with lawyers and firm leadership to develop client engagement strategies and identify cross-selling opportunities across practice groups.
- Support account management initiatives by strengthening relationships with key clients and identifying opportunities for additional legal services.
- Track business development activities, maintain client and prospect databases, and prepare regular pipeline and performance reports.
Key Requirements
- 5–10 years of post-qualification experience as a Finance Lawyer, gained from a law firm environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Law with a strong background in Corporate and Finance law. An advocate license is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, including originating client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to revenue growth.
- Proven ability to engage with senior business leaders, conduct client presentations, and effectively articulate legal solutions to prospective and existing clients.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand client needs and develop tailored legal service offerings.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence decision-making at all levels.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across practice groups and develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken, to support regional and cross-border client engagements.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple client matters and business development initiatives simultaneously.
- Proven people management experience is preferred, including the ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior lawyers or business support professionals.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong client-service orientation and a demonstrated track record of contributing to business growth and market expansion.
