Key Responsibilities
- Advise on energy and natural resources projects across development, construction, financing, and operational stages.
- Assist in structuring and advising on transactions involving renewable energy, energy transition initiatives, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and other emerging energy sectors.
- Collaborate with cross-practice and cross-border teams on multidisciplinary matters to support knowledge sharing, client service delivery, and business development initiatives.
- Conduct legal and market research on regulatory developments, industry trends, and policy changes affecting the Energy & Natural Resources sector and client operations.
- Deliver internal sessions and presentations covering legal technology tools, regulatory updates, and developments within the energy and infrastructure industry.
- Develop and maintain internal knowledge management resources, including legal updates, precedents, training materials, and practice documentation aligned with global knowledge strategy objectives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Joint Venture Agreements (JVs), EPC contracts, and offtake arrangements related to energy and natural resources projects.
- Provide legal and regulatory advice relating to environmental regulations, ESG requirements, licensing, permitting, and compliance with applicable local and international laws.
- Respond to legal and technical queries from colleagues and stakeholders by delivering practical, commercially focused, and solution-oriented guidance.
- Support project finance transactions by assisting sponsors and financial institutions in structuring, negotiating, and closing financing arrangements for large-scale energy and infrastructure developments.
Key Requirements
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and cross-border teams.
- Demonstrated interest and passion for the energy and infrastructure industry, including renewable energy, sustainability, and energy transition developments.
- Excellent legal drafting, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines within a fast-paced professional environment.
- Proven experience as a fee earner or Knowledge Lawyer handling energy, infrastructure, natural resources, finance, or commercial matters.
- Qualified lawyer with 3–6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in Indonesian law, preferably with exposure to the energy, infrastructure, or natural resources sectors.
- Solid understanding of project finance, commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and emerging energy transition sectors.
- Strategic mindset supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate complex legal issues into practical business solutions.
- Strong commitment to continuous learning, knowledge development, and sharing best practices across teams and functions.
- Strong technical capability in corporate, commercial, financing, and regulatory matters relating to energy and infrastructure projects.
