AP Manager (Africa Based)

Job Description:

Take ownership of the Accounts Payable function and play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled financial operations across the business.
  • Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, including invoice receipt, verification, posting, and payment execution.
  • Ensure all vendor payments are processed accurately and within agreed payment terms.
  • Perform vendor reconciliations and confirmations, resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor vendor aging reports and proactively address overdue balances and outstanding issues.
  • Handle vendor payment disputes and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations, including withholding tax (WHT), VAT, and other statutory requirements.
  • Strengthen payment controls to prevent duplicate, fraudulent, or unauthorized transactions.
  • Maintain adherence to internal policies, financial controls, and audit requirements.
  • Support monthly financial reporting activities and assist with general accounting responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Accounts Payable or General Accounting functions.
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processes, vendor management, and payment controls.
  • Experience handling VAT, withholding tax (WHT), and other statutory compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy and process compliance.
  • Experience working within FMCG, manufacturing, or high-volume transaction environments is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Open to a long-term relocation and permanent placement in Africa.
